Bombora NOOBeginnings is here!! This summer we've decided to focus on expanding our community by introducing new people to skating as well as our local scene thats filled with amazing characters. Over the last few years we have noticed a decline in attendance at most major events and we realized one massive contributing factor, most of the events that were being held didn't exactly attract new riders. Although we have so many wicked local events, most were being held for people who were already a part of the community that already had a basic knowledge of how to skate.
For years Bombora Brotherhood member Luis Bustamante had been talking about hosting NOOB sessions and this was the perfect time to kickstart it. So, the plan was set in motion and we opened the floodgates to our community! We took a different approach to how we attacked these events. This year we've teamed up with established groups of skaters in their local areas across Southern Ontario to reach into their community and pull a whack load of new people into the scene.
We kicked NOOBeginnings off by hosting two sessions this month, both with tremendous turnouts! Lets take a look at some of the great media captured by both us and the community.
NOOBeginnings Session #1
Our first event was with the HBFC crew in Hamilton. They run a monthly push along the harbour with decent turn outs. We were approached by Meghan Guevarra, a local leader of the HBFC crew, asking us if we wanted to play host to one of her cruises. We jumped at the opportunity and decided it was the perfect event to kick off NOOBeginnings. Here are some of the highlights.

NOOBEGINNINGS SESSION #2
For our second instalment of NOOBeginnings we teamed up with THE ADVENTURE CLUB and the SKATE INVADERS to host a ultra noob session for people who have never even stepped on a board. All the other sponsors stepped up their game for this event too ! LONGBOARD HAVEN provided some of their talented riders to act as teachers, BEAN AND BAKER provided crucial water and treats and ZERO FUCKS BOLT COMPANY was running the grill all day. Such an amazing turnout! So many new faces!!!

We are so stoked at the response we received from the first two NOOBeginnings sessions! So much stoke!! Our third instalment of NOOBeginnings will be taking place August 21 in Toronto. We will be hosting the Super Mellow Beach Cruise and we expect a massive showing!!!!!
